IPS Overview and Navigation
The purpose of this guide is to provide an overview of the Portfolio component

Portfolio's is used to manage client investments, providing an audit trail for investment transactions. Portfolios can contain a variety of investment security types that can be added, modified and/or removed. Accurate data entry of client investment information will result in effective financial modelling and reporting. Investment transactions can be entered and updated manually or by datafeeds.
You would access Portfolios to:
- Add the client’s financial assets
- View the client’s assets
- Edit the holding position
- View transactions
- View the asset allocation

IPS Portfolio
- This overview outlines the main components below available in the client's IPS Portfolio screen:

Position - Displays the client‟s current situation

Performance – includes Profit Analysis, Benchmark and Progress.

Asset Allocation – Provides asset allocation of holdings

Transactions – Shows transactions that have taken place
-
Cash Summary - Summarise credit and debit transaction

Cash Match - Match cash account to Asset trade and Cash Income transaction

CGT – Where modelling on CGT can be done
-
Settings – To set how you want IPS displayed

IPS Model

Model – Apply Model Portfolios as a recommendation

Recommend – Make manual recommendations

Asset Allocation – View the Asset Allocation of your recommendation

IPS Reports
- Select and run different Reports based around the Client‟s Portfolio information.

IPS Admin
- This overview outlines the main components below available in the client's IPS Admin screen:

Properties – Adjust the settings for this client such as Tax Type: CGT Allocation Method and Currency

External Accounts – View Any Datafeeds that the client has linked to their portfolio

Cash and Accounts – View Portfolio Account and Cash Account settings

Corporate Actions
- A corporate action is any event that brings material change to a company. In the case of a share split, merger, warrant or hybrid maturity (where a note then converts to either cash or shares) corporate actions can be automated and templated in XPLAN.

Shared portfolios can be created for multiple owners, either two or more unrelated entities. The ownership of the portfolio is equally divided between each entity. The portfolio has the same functions like an individual client portfolio. To increase clarity, joint portfolios are used for two related entities, such as a married couple.

IPS Compare
The purpose of this guide is to provide you with the instructions necessary to use the Portfolio Compare function.
Portfolio Compare is a function within XPLAN that allows you to easily compare Portfolios, Portfolio Accounts, Target Sets or Model Trees in any combination. You can quickly compare the breakdown of two Portfolios by Fund, Asset Class and Sector, as well as view an allocation comparison for each security. The comparison can also be generated into a PDF report.

IPS Functions
Linking
The purpose of this guide is to providing instructions on how to link a Client Focus Asset to an IPS Holding/Account.
Assets can be linked to one of the client's Portfolio Accounts or a Portfolio position in an unlinked Account. This allows you to update the market value of an Asset automatically using the data from IPS, and also to use Quick Entry to add holdings to the Portfolio Account from the Asset page. Values are automatically updated based on the latest IPS data.

Export

CLASS Super
XPLAN can export XML files that are compatible with APS's Advance Desktop Super product. You can export the transaction or balance data specific to a user.

ADS
XPLAN can export XML files that are compatible with the CLASS Super software. You can export the transaction or balance data specific to a user. Once linked to your XPLAN account, CLASS Super data for superfund clients can be viewed in Client Dashboards.
