Portfolio (IPS) - Corporate Actions: How to Run Corporate Actions

How to Run Corporate Actions Overview

The purpose of this guide is to provide information on running corporate actions via a client portfolio and multiple security holders 

Run Corporate Actions via a Client Portfolio

While accessing a client:

  • In the navigation menu, select Portfolios > Corporate Actions > Corporate Actions.

You can list corporate actions on a single security or on all securities held by a client.

 

By a Single Security

  • Click the Search icon.

  • The Security Selection search dialog box opens. Search for and select a security. 



    Note: You can confirm that the list is being filtered by the selected security by checking the Corporate Action Targets panel, which displays the current date filter and security filter.

  •  Click Execute.

 

By all securities

  • Remove any security filters.
  •  Use the date range filter list to select the date range of corporate actions to display. If you select Since Inception, corporate actions will display based on when the client's holdings were first purchased.
  • Tick the checkbox to select the corporate actions to run. Usually, selected corporate actions should say No in the Executed column, indicating that they have not been run before.

  • Click Execute.

 

Run Corporate Actions via a Multiple Security Holders

  • From the Title Bar at the top of the XPLAN screen, click the XPLAN menu button, then
  • Portfolio Functions > Corporate Actions. The Available Actions page displays.
  • Click the Search icon.

  • The Security Selection search dialog box opens. Search for and select a security. 
  • You can confirm that the list is being filtered by the selected security by checking the heading of the page, which displays the current date filter and security filter.
  •  Use the date range filter list to select the date range of corporate actions to display.
  •  You can use the AdviserClient CategoryPortfolio Group and Account Mandate filters to further refine the corporate actions displayed.
  •  Click the arrow and select View Targets on the corporate action template to be run. All of the clients who hold the security are listed.

  • Tick the checkbox of all client portfolio accounts to be modified by the corporate action. By default all clients that have not previously had the selected action run will be ticked.
  •  Click Execute

    Note: Rerunning corporate actions on portfolios will replace existing linked transactions and any manual income transactions.
