Accessing XPLAN Touch

Accessing the site

1. From your XPLAN URL, replace “home” with “touch” as shown below and hit Enter.

2. Select I am an adviser and enter your XPLAN login details and select Login.

  1.   A taskbar that allows quick access to various applications

  2. Client search function that is linked to your XPLAN access 

  3. Add New Client function

  4. Recently accessed client display 

Add New Client – XPLAN Touch

Steps:

  1. From the home screen, create a new client record by clicking New Client.

  2. You have the option to complete all of the details on the screen or just the mandatory fields denoted by the asterisk (*).

    Once you have completed the necessary details, click Next.

  3. Add the client’s contact and address details by clicking Add.

  4. Click Done to complete the New Client process and view the client dashboard.

Client Dashboard Navigation

Client Menu options

Dashboard Displays a summary of the client’s financial position and acts as
a home screen for that client.
Key Deatails Displays the key details of the client which can be updated as
required.
Contact Details Displays the contact details of the client which can be updated
as required.
Mindmap A graphical interface for data input. Some of the details
entered here populate the XPLAN Advice Wizard SOA
templates.
About You – Client Profile A short form client profile. Details entered here populate the
XPLAN Advice Wizard SOA templates.
Risk profiler Risk profile identification tool via:
• Questionnaire tool
• Risk Discussion
Poerfolio Displays portfolio data from XPLAN
Insurance Displays life, medical and general insurance details.
Notes Information can be stored within a client's file in the form of Client Notes
Engage Tools

• Salary sacrifice
• Planning for Retirement
• Transition to Retirement
• Insurance needs
• Quick Quote – enables you to generate insurance quotes
• Super Choice – enables you to compare the fees and
investment asset allocations of various super and pension funds
• CALM – provides you with long-term graphical and
numerical representation of a client’s cash flow, assets and liabilities

 

Mindmap – XPLAN Touch

  1. Select Mindmap from the Client Menu.

  2. Click on the plus icon next to the description box to enter the client’s financial details.

  3. Depending on the description box you select, a pop up box will appear with various inputs
    for you to complete. Once you have completed the necessary details and updated the
    ownership structure, click Save

  4. Enter the remaining client data so that you have a snapshot of your client’s current position.
    Once completed, it should look something like this:

  5. Select Dashboard from the Client Menu to review the client’s summary position.

Risk Profiler

 

Risk Profile Questionnaire

The short form allows financial advisers to assess the client’s risk tolerance by filling out a questionnaire. The client's answers are used to calculate their risk tolerance.

  1. From the Client Menu, select Risk Profiler > Risk Questionnaire.

  2. Once this is completed, you will need to update the Risk Profile by clicking Action > Change Risk Profile > select the Risk Profile and state a reason

  3. Select History to view the risk profile history.

Risk Discussion tool

The risk discussion tool allows you to compare the client’s target risk profile to other investor risk profiles in order to have a robust discussion around asset class allocations and simulated returns.

  1. From the Risk Profiler menu, select Risk Discussion.
  2. There are two options to select here:
     a. Asset Allocation tab
     b.Simulated Returns tab

Asset Allocation Tab

  1. Select an alternative risk profile from the Investor Risk Profile drop down menu to compare

    to the Client Target Asset Allocation sourced from the risk profile questionnaire.

  2. The Client Target asset allocation is sourced from the risk profile questionnaire tool.

  3. The Asset Allocation Targets is the asset allocation of the risk profile selected in step 1.

Simulated Returns Tab

The Simulated Returns tab will display the Client Target risk profile for:

  1. All years

  2. Intervals

  3. Percentile table

  4. Annual Returns

All Years
This option illustrates the range of sampled annual investment returns for the selected profile. It provides an immediate comparison of the volatility associated with the investment portfolio. The ranges represent the most likely 90% of the annual returns observed over all iterations performed. The dark purple band represents the investment values for the most likely 30% returns (between
35th and 65th percentile). The outer ranges represent the 5th and 95th.

Intervals

This option illustrates the expected portfolio value over different time intervals, with the darker
shades representing the more likely return for that period.

Percentile Table

This option illustrates average dollar figure return over a 20 year period for the 5th, 50th and 95th
percentile. It also details the mean return and volatility over the 20 year period.

Annual Returns

For each profile an example of possible annual returns is generated. This chart is designed to
demonstrate the assumed short-term volatility of annual investment returns for each investment
profile, and can be used to discuss short-term volatility with a client. Each time a chart is displayed a new set of unique values is calculated. You can also display a new set of values by clicking the anticlockwise arrow.
