The purpose of this lesson is to show you the steps to set up your own Managed Field Content that can be used when SOA documents are being created.
Managed Content will help you to personalise your letters, Statements of Advice and Review documents for your clients.
XPLAN is set up with Managed Content provided by MLC and all advice documents are linked to this content. As you become more familiar with the SOA Wizard and the existing Managed Content available for use in your documents, you may want to create your own text to use. This will save me and reduce duplication.
XPLAN Champions can help other users in the practice understand how to use Managed Content. If the practice wants to have their own managed content that can be chosen when writing SOAs, the XPLAN Champion should ensure the template is shared with other users in the group.
Managed Field Content allows you to create and save a template of your own text so that it is available when you are creating your documents. When creating a Managed Content Field, you have the op on to share the template with other users or keep the template private so the template is only available to you. After you have selected a template to be used in a field you can then manually edit the text as required.
As shown, fields that have the Template button can be used to select an existing Managed Field Content template or you can add new Managed Field Content to the field.
Before a template can be selected from designated template fields within a Wizard you will firstly need to create the template text in XPLAN's Managed Content > Template fields screen.
We will now illustrate how to add a Managed Field Content Template to the "[Strategy] Other introduction" field which is found in the SOA Wizard Strategy page.
To assist in understanding which fields within XPLAN we refer to when completing the fields in the Edit Value screen, we have provided an example of the SOA Wizard page below which we will be referring to in the following instructions. The example we have used in the Edit Value screen will relate directly to the field shown in the SOA Wizard page example below.

Support is available in Wealth Axis Zendesk LMS. There is a learning event, and a video simulation which shows the steps involved in creating Managed Field Content
You will access the email system each time you are required to send an email to a client from within XPLAN.
The XMerge Report function is an excellent way to save time when sending coded documents to clients. Rather than merging a document and then attaching it to an email when sending it to a client, this process can be completed in one step in Xplan.
