Revenue Reporting Overview
XPLAN CommPay enables you to view, report on and download revenue received (at XPLAN > Administration Functions > CommPay). You also have the ability to map revenue data to your XPLAN clients and analyse your revenues.
Follow our practical guide on how to use CommPay to produce reports and CSV files for a particular commission statement or for a specified period.
For more information on how to use CommPay, refer to the XPLAN CommPay User Guide on the Adviser Payment Services page on the BT Adviser Services (BTAS) site.
Revenue reporting
Once a revenue payment is finalised and processed by BTGL’s Adviser Payment Services, revenue information can be viewed, reported on, and/or downloaded from CommPay.

There are three types of reporting available in CommPay:
-
Transactions, which enables you to use search filters to view and download transactions across all policies and all clients that you have access to in CommPay. The filters available have been customised by Wealth Axis.
-
Reports, which enables you to produce standard reports designed and implemented by IRESS. Adviser Payment Services manages the underlying data in these reports.
-
Practice Analysis, which allows you to further analyse your client revenue, and includes visual tools such as graphs and charting.
How do I produce a report for a commission statement?
The Adviser Reconciliation Report displays all revenue applied to policies and client fees for a single specified payment period (or commission statement). It includes all adjustments and auto journals that are applicable for the period. This report also displays a Year to Date payment summary, and enables Practice principals and advisers to identify how and from where client revenues are being received.
To produce an Adviser Reconciliation Report for a particular commission statement:
- Go to XPLAN > Administration Functions > CommPay > Reports.
- Select the Adviser Reconciliation Report.
- In the Filtering section:
- For Report Type, select Detailed.
- For Group By, select Revenue Type.
- For Supplier Amount, select Gross Amount.

How do I view or download the details of a commission statement?
To view or download the details of a commission statement:
- Go to XPLAN > Administration Functions > CommPay > Transactions.
- In the Account section, select the required Adviser from the dropdown list.
- If All is selected, the CSV file will contain revenue data for all Advisers that you have access to. However, the CSV file may fail to generate if the file size is too large. Subsequently, if you would like to download data for more than one Adviser, you may need to produce multiple CSV files (one for each Adviser).
- You can view a large number of revenue transactions on screen in CommPay. However, to avoid system performance issues it is suggested that you select the appropriate Filtering and Group By options to ensure that less than 5,000 transactions will be displayed.
