Portfolio (IPS) - IPS Portfolio: Portfolio Performance

Portfolio Performance Overview

The purpose of this guide is to provide an overview Portfolio Performance. Tools such as Profit Analysis, Benchmark and Progress are used to determine the performance of the portfolio at a point in time against portfolio targets.

 

Portfolio Profit Analysis

Adding a Transaction

The Add button function in the Profit Analysis screen is similar to Portfolio Position Adding a Transaction here

 

Analyse Portfolio Profits

While accessing a client:

  1. In the navigation menu, select Portfolios > Portfolio > Performance > Profit Analysis.

  2. Select the period for the analysis in the Date Range fields.

  3. Select how the securities are grouped in the Grouping list.

  4. Choose the Portfolio Account to view from the Portfolio Account list, or select View All.

  5. Choose whether to aggregate Accounts in the Aggregation list.

  6. In the Fees and Taxes list, choose when you want the profit analysis to be calculated from in relation to fees and taxes.

In the Analysis panel, you can view your client's profit analysis represented in a graphical form. In the Chart Type list, you can select to view a Market MapMark to Market or Top / Bottom chart.

 

Portfolio Benchmark

Display the Portfolio Benchmark

While accessing a client:

  1. In the navigation menu, select Portfolios > Portfolio > Performance > Benchmark.

  2. Select the period for the analysis in the Date Range fields.

  3. Select the Portfolio Account you want to analyse, or select View All.

  4. In the Benchmark list, do one of the following:

    • Select a benchmark

    • Select an existing benchmark from the list.

    • Create a benchmark using a single security

      1. Click  and select Quick Benchmark. The Quick Benchmark dialog box opens.

      2. Type a Name for the benchmark.

      3. Type a Security to use for the benchmark. You can click  to search for the security.

      4. Click OK.

  5. In the Benchmark Adjustment box, type the percentage adjustment for the analysis.

  6. In the Chart Type list, select the type of chart to view.

To access Portfolio Progress

While accessing a client:

  1. In the navigation menu, select Portfolios > Portfolio > Performance > Progress. The client's Portfolio Progress page displays.

  2. Set the investment Start Value and Start Date.

  3. Set the investment Target Value and Target Date.

  4. Choose the portfolio account to view from the Portfolio Account list, or select View All.

  5. Click .
